The Clear Brooks Family

Performance THE SMOKE

This performance is dedicated to Bertold Brecht. It is played in the forest and streets. Bread is unquestionable, Life is eternal. Free is the dance of an ordinary man overcoming artificial moods. Burning hay smoke, full of white clouds and scents of nature, suggests that the isolated houses are inhabited by – man.

THEATRE “The Clear Brooks Family”

The esthetics of  “The Clear Brooks Family” is founded on the holy trinity of authenticity: Simplicity, Honesty, Courage. Performers bring their own experience. Commitment and avant-garde. On the scene, the troop communicate their experience from the commune, represented in simple outlines perceived in forest and dreams.

Božidar Mandić, writer and director, founder of the commune The Clear Brooks Family. He was born in 1952 in Novi Sad and moved to the forests of the mountain Rudnik in 1977. So far, he has published 15 books, realized 12 independent exhibitions and directed and acted in 12 theater performances. The motto of his philosophy is return to the ground and cultivation of poetics against politics.
